baby girl is on the move!

she started rolling from her back to her tummy right around new years… she still gets stuck and has difficulty rolling back to her back again, which ( i think ) is the opposite way most babies learn to roll and flip, but she’s doing great and loving her increased mobility!

toes are also really tasty

baby love

Its always fun to see the people you love meet your children.  My aunt and uncle were in town last week and we had a great time together… I was so happy to have them meet Ruby and snuggle with her.  Ethan, who is considerably less snuggly these days, provided the entertainment and added comedic value to our day.  He’s going through a silly phase (although maybe it’s just his personality developing, and not just a phase?). Either way, I love it.  Thanks, M & C for loving our little ones =)

a haircut

I’m not a fan of kiddie haircut places.  I especially don’t care for the way they seem to butcher little boys hair.  Instead, we take the burden/responsibility upon ourselves, which could mean sheer and utter tragedy or a great success.  Luckily, this time it was the latter. This is how we do it around here:  Strip toddler down to diaper, set up laptop/dvd for distraction/entertainment, and go to town with the hair clippers…. (much easier now in our big backyard I must say!)

So short, but super cute.  I can’t tell if it makes him look older or younger.

getting caught up

There’s been a multitude of events going on around here lately, and I hope to get caught up on things soon. Mostly, we’ve been tackling a lot of these…

let’s just say this already sleep-deprived mama of 2 has had her hands full this past month moving, unpacking, organizing, hosting out of town guests, and road tripping to the san juan’s to be a bridesmaid in one of my best friend’s wedding…. all while doing my best to spend time with my hh (handsome hubby) and keep a toddler and newborn alive and well… whew.  I need a nap.  no seriously, I do.

So anyway, in our *leisure time* we’ve been exploring our new little town and is it fabulous.  Did I mention we are 10 minutes away from the sound?

Yikes, that boy needs a haircut!

Movin’ on up…

… Not quite to the eastside.  In fact it is quite the opposite.  I’ll post more about our new digs soon, but for me, I know I’m really in my new home when the contents of the fridge have migrated from the old place to the new place.   And with that, I’m going to go collapse into bed, which at this point is still just a mattress on the floor.  I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to tell the difference.
